Mediterranean interiors are a response to strong sun: thick walls, small deep openings, lime-washed surfaces that stay cool and scatter light. The palette comes from the landscape rather than a mood board — sand, terracotta, olive, sea. Arches and vaulted ceilings do the work that decoration does elsewhere.

Applied to the kitchen, this style works best when the layout fundamentals are right first. Plan the kitchen around the work triangle — sink, stove, refrigerator — and give the island at least 100 cm of clearance on every working side. Materials do the styling here: the countertop, backsplash, and cabinet finish should read as one composed palette rather than three separate decisions.
