What file formats can I upload?

Archome works from images, so anything your software can export as a picture will go in. JPG and PNG cover almost every case. WebP, GIF and AVIF are accepted too, and the upload limit is 25 MB per file, which is far above what a plan export or a viewport capture normally needs.

Photos taken on an iPhone arrive as HEIC or HEIF. Those are accepted and converted to JPEG on the server automatically, so you do not need to change any camera setting or convert anything by hand.

PDF is the one that catches people out, and it catches architects out most, because a plan usually leaves the office as a PDF. Archome cannot read a PDF directly. The fix takes seconds: open it, screenshot the drawing, or export the page as PNG or JPG from your PDF viewer. A screen capture at a sensible zoom level renders just as well as an export.

DWG, RVT, SKP, 3DM and other native CAD or model files are not accepted either. Export or screenshot a view instead — a shaded viewport, a hidden-line view or a plan export all work. For SketchUp and 3ds Max there are free plugins that send the current viewport straight through without an export step.
