Can AI rendering replace V-Ray or Corona?

No, and it is not trying to. AI covers the concept and option stages where speed matters more than physical accuracy; a rendering engine remains the right tool when the image itself is the deliverable.

A physically based renderer solves light. It computes how photons actually behave in your scene, which is why a V-Ray or Corona image can be trusted for material accuracy, daylight studies and the kind of final visual a developer pays a studio to produce. An AI model does not solve light; it produces an image that looks as though light behaved that way. Those are different guarantees.

Where that difference stops mattering is early. At concept stage nobody is verifying luminance levels — they are deciding whether the cladding should be timber or brick, and whether the massing reads well from the approach. For that question a thirty-second AI image is not a compromise; it is a better fit, because you can look at six options instead of one.
