Can I show a dated kitchen renovated for a fixer-upper listing?

This is the listing problem AI is genuinely good at: a sound house nobody can picture past the 1990s kitchen. A renovation view keeps the room's geometry and shows it with current materials, which lets a buyer value the bones instead of the finishes. It is the same argument a good stager makes, made earlier and cheaper.

The constraint is the same as everywhere else in the product: cabinets, surfaces, appliances and light change; walls, windows, doors and the camera do not. You cannot open the kitchen into the living room and you cannot move the sink wall — and you should not want to in a listing photo, because a buyer who tours the house will see the real room.

Disclosure here is stricter than for staging, not looser. A renovation view shows a condition the property is not in. Label it explicitly as a concept or proposed renovation, keep it separate from the photographs of the current condition, and never let it sit in the gallery unlabelled. Agents get into trouble over exactly this image type, and the fix costs nothing but a caption.
